Kinetic Defence is the leading supplier of recruitment solutions to the Defence and Aerospace industries. Our client is currently looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is looking for a challenging position within their Technical Group.

This position will see the successful applicant reporting to the Technical Manager and Chief Engineer and will offer you the opportunity for exposure across various projects in different industries.

The successful applicant will be required to provide professional engineering services to their Technical Group by undertaking design, analysis, reporting and general engineering tasks along with mentoring junior engineering staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Liaise with customers, suppliers and relevant staff on technical matters.
• Plan and execute technical investigations and /or detailed analyses to meet customer requirements.
• Provide technical reports identifying findings, conclusions and posing recommendations for any investigations or analyses.
• Undertake technical risk assessments, following procedures.
• Undertake design of Mechanical systems, components, jigs, fixtures, special tools, plant equipment.
• Review technical documentation including drawings, designs and design changes.
• Produce engineering specifications and documentation when required.
• Assist Technical Manager in management of engineering tasks, resources and budget.

Qualification and Experience:

• Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer.
• 6+ years relevant engineering design/ investigative experience.
• Mechanical design experience using CAE software packages.
• Manufacturing, site engineering experience and project management skills are highly regarded.
• Experience in maintenance and repair or overhaul of large frame engines and transmissions.
